Not sure which grow bag to choose?
This quick guide breaks it down so you can easily find the right one for your needs.
1. BRF Bags (Brown Rice Flour – All-in-One Bags)
The simplest option – just inject, mix, and let it grow!
How It Works:
- Inject the spores into the bag.
- The bag will colonize (fill with mycelium).
- Once about 30% colonized, mix it to spread growth evenly.
- Let it fully colonize, then it will fruit inside the bag!
Sizes & Estimated Yields:
- 1LB BRF Bag → ~150g wet weight
- 2LB BRF Bag → ~350g wet weight
- 4LB BRF Bag → ~750g wet weight

2. Dung Master Bags (Horse Manure-Based All-in-One Bags)
For dung-loving species – easy and potent!
How It Works:
- Inject spores into the bag.
- Allow the bag to begin colonizing.
- Once around 30% colonized, mix the bag gently to spread growth evenly..
- Mix again at roughly 60% to ensure full and even colonization.
- Once fully colonized, introduce a gentle 12-hour light and 12-hour darkness cycle to trigger fruiting and pinning inside the bag.
Sizes & Estimated Yields:
- 1LB Dung Bag → ~145g wet weight
- 2LB Dung Bag → ~350g wet weight
- 4LB Dung Bag → ~770g wet weight

3. Grain Bags (For Use in Monotubs)
For bulk growing – needs a fruiting chamber.
How It Works:
- Inject spores into the bag.
- Once fully colonized, mix it with CVG (Coco Coir, Vermiculite, and Gypsum).
- Move to a fruiting chamber (monotub) – mushrooms will not fruit in the bag.
Sizes:
- 1LB Grain Bag
- 1.5KG Grain Bag
